HOPE FOR
HOMELESS PETS
Carleton County Animal Shelter (CCAS) is a non-profit charitable organization operating as a no-kill shelter, helping homeless animals find their fur-ever homes since 1995.
ABOUT US
History.
Founded in 1995 and serving Carleton County, including the Town of Woodstock and surrounding areas, the Carleton County Animal Shelter has the capacity to house 52 cats and 3 dogs while they wait for their
fur-ever home!
No-Kill Shelter.
The Carleton County Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter. This means that animals will not be euthanized because of a lack of space. Euthanasia is reserved as a last resort and is performed only when our veterinary care providers deem it necessary to prevent suffering.
Funding.
The CCAS is a registered non-profit charitable organization which receives no ongoing government funding. The shelter's operating expenses of more than $100,000 per year are almost exclusively paid for by donations and proceeds from fundraising activities.
HOW MUCH EACH CAT COSTS US.
Spay: $260
Neuter: $170
Post-Surgery Medications: $35
Physical Exam: $80
Rabies Vaccine: $22
First Set of Vaccines: $45
In total, female cats cost us around $450, and male cats cost us around $350. Any donations received will help with our vet bills and the continuation of care for all animals in the shelter.
