CCAS is a non-profit organization that has been proudly operating as a no-kill shelter for 30 years.

ABOUT US

History

Founded in 1995 and serving Carleton County, including the Town of Woodstock and surrounding areas, the Carleton County Animal Shelter has the capacity to hold 50 cats and 6 dogs

No-Kill Shelter

We are a no-kill shelter. This means that animals will never be euthanized because of a lack of space. Euthanasia is reserved as a last resort and is performed only when our veterinary care providers deem it necessary to prevent suffering.

Funding

CCAS is a registered non-profit charitable organization which receives no ongoing government funding. The shelter's operating expenses of more than $100,000 per year are almost exclusively paid for by donations and proceeds from fundraising activities.
