That this animal will only be placed on hold for seven (7) days after this form has been signed. It is your responsibility to call us after the seven (7) days are completed to extend the hold for another week or arrange a pickup date within the week. A Carleton County Animal Shelter (CCAS) staff member will call once to notify of the hold window closing and leave a voicemail. If CCAS have not been contacted or you do not respond in 24 hours, they remain the right to adopt out or place said animal on hold for a different client without notifying you. That there is a fifty (50) dollar deposit required to place an animal on hold; this can only be paid by cash or e-transfer. This deposit is counted towards the animal’s total adoption fee and is non-refundable. If you decide you want to take the animal off a hold, you will not receive the money back and it does not count towards a different animal. That CCAS remains the right to terminate this contract at any time under their discretion and no refund will be available.
